View All Things Mashed PotatoesHi! What is the size range in ounces on Yukon Gold B potatoes?
Variety potatoes (reds, yellow types, long whites, etc.) are sized as A, B, and C, or creamers. Think of variety potato sizes, not so much in ounces (as this can vary so much depending on the shipper and time of year) but rather by visual, even ball-comparison sizing. Thus, variety potatoes are sold as A (and premium) which is about the size of tennis ball or larger, B size, about the size of handball, and C (or creamer size) which can range from 1” diameter upwards to nearly a golf ball size. A better, visual size guide is attached for reference, which also includes a USDA size guideline link.
